I should get a new gardening pic.... Pictures and progress under the cut
Last week I'd planted some greens and onions in the original raised bed, only to find that someone had dug up my rows the next day. DAMN SQUIRRELS. Here is my attempt to stop them:
In the NEW raised bed (which is huge and awesome btw 18' x 6') I planted more onions, strawberry plant leftovers from the neighbor, ever bearing strawberry plants that i purchased today, and I am attempting to grow snow and sugar peas around/inside tomato cages. I'm hoping i can make them climb up them. We'll see how it goes.
I also started a pot with butter crunch lettuce (for the Physicist's BLT's) and radishes.
Then I went NUTZO in the flower department. Here are all the different pots I planted: - pink & yellow lantanas w/ white lobelia for the hanging basket - purple pansy, yellow blotch pansy, purple and yellow violas! I am so excited about this combination - dahlias and lobelias in my little grecian planter - holly hock seeds and lobelias - lobelia and "speed ballz" wild flowers - california and some other kind of poppy with "speed ballz"
Here are the label from the Speed Ballz that the Physicist's mom got me:
They seem kind of crazy.. but we'll see how they go! Here's some more eye-candy:
